This Challenge Will Come To An End

With 12 days left to complete our packing, it looks like a bomb went off in my home. As we pack, we're also organizing. That takes so much longer, but we then have less to put on our moving truck.

Most discards are going to Goodwill, but we're also throwing a ton of it away. It's great to have multiple dumpsters in our townhome neighborhood. We're taking about 4 large trashbags each day.
We took about 30 pounds of old papers to a large shredder. That gives more peace of mind, as well as having less to move and store. When we first married, Hubby saved every tax years paperwork. Now that we know that isn't needed, it's very freeing to get rid of some tax forms.
Being on my feet feels great mentally, but physically, not so much. I have done more and more, Two days ago, I seemed to have energy. I packed and packed. Even with taking long breaks, I kept packing. In the afternoon, my lower back was gone. The pain was severe.
My wrists with AVN, were swollen and in severe pain. This pain went down into my hands and fingers, and up into my forearm. My breaks were now lasting longer, and I used more ice-packs. By about four pm. my packing was over. I could no longer bend over or use my wrists anymore.
Yesterday, I woke with awful pain and decided to skip the packing. My hands were throbbing so strongly, it was all I could do to pay a few bills and change my address online.

This morning, my ankle isn't any worse, so I will be able to get on my feet for short amounts of time. This is great, because our youngest has his PhD ceremony tonight at the University of Kansas. We're so proud of his accomplishments!
He's reserved a disabled parking and seat for me. We're all so thankful that the ceremony will be indoors. The temperatures are still mild here, but I worry about rain. I hope that they'll take good photographs of each graduate. I'll be glad to buy one!
The time from now until the move is over, is very challenging in respects to my AVN surgery recovery. I'm doing my best to avoid over-doing it. It's time that the doctor said I could ditch the heavy boot for an OTC ankle brace. I'll try that next week. The boot has actually protected my ankle during all the near hits from moving boxes. They are everywhere!!!
I hope that you all have a low-pain weekend and can enjoy some great springtime weather. No matter how much pain I endure during this move, I know that there will be time to recover after we have our things unloaded into our new home. The house won't have to be set up fast. I've learned that doing things slowly is fine.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weak-
nesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Cor. 12:9
It takes so much pressure off to just let things go. Another thing that makes moving and pain easier is when I thank God for all the good things! There are more good things than I would have imagined. God bless!
