This is not a new topic here at Chronically Content. I try not to count all my diseases/conditions, because that would be depressing.
After seeing the endocronologist I was sent for more tests and more appointments. Because my doctor suspected that the following diseases could be behind my Avascular Necrosis, he gave me many orders:
Lupus
Hyperparathyroidism
Multiple Myleoma
I had an order to see my rheumatologist, but I couldn't see her until after Christmas, so I agreed to see the NP. She came in and was suprised that the schedulers would send her to me.
After I asked her to continue the appointment, I knew that the scheduling mistake was really a God thing. This PA taught me more about Lupus and Sjogren's than I have ever known.
Her overall thinking was that she thought I had a Lupus and Sjogren's mix. This is called Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder. She is transfering my care to another doctor there who is a specialist in Lupus and Sjogren's.
I'm so beyond thrilled that I got to have an appointment with this lady. She spent a long time with me. She noticed how my hands were swelled, too. She said that Sjogren's isn't just dry eyes and mouth! I was ecstatic to hear that because all the rheumatologists I've ever seen did not believe it.
She said that Sjogren's patients need to have a baseline x-ray of all the joints and a CT to check my lungs. She said that lungs are often the organ attacked by Sjogren's.
I'll be scheduling all the tests today. The scans will probably be soon, but the pulmonary function test might take longer to schedule. Between all these tests and my upcoming ankle surgery, I'm going to be busy.
I know that whatever I'm told about my health, I am not alone. I trust God with my mind, soul, and body. I will accept any new diagnosis that may come my way.
II Corinthians 4:17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
