Warm Memories With Pain

Our Christmas was filled with so many warm memories! Driving six days to spend four days with my family has been very hard. But, the memories of the four days are joyful, no matter the increase in pain.

We have two more days of driving before we arrive at home. The only way I could prevent grotesque swelling was to lay across the back seat with my foot propped up. My left ankle has been badly swollen for the entire trip, but when I have to sit in a chair the swelling is terrible.

When the left ankle and entire foot swells severely the right foot also swells. The right foot isn't painful. The Avascular Necrosis in my left ankle is the cause of all of this misery.

My cute little grandchild was so interested in my Air Boot. He loved pumping up the air in my boot and also had fun letting the air out. He loves to see how things work and was interested in my CPAP. He tried taking it apart to try to understand how the machine worked.

The beauty of Christmas was seen in his little eyes. We went with him to church to hear Christmas music and a short message. I love the carols telling of the birth of Jesus.

I hope you and yours enjoyed this blessed holiday. Christmas has it's tense-filled moments, but it is worth it. Although I didn't have to host a dinner or even cook a dish, I am still exhausted.

I'm praying for less swelling tomorrow and for Hubby to stay more awake. He had to stop and take quite a few naps.

Has your holiday season been rough or could you ignore any drama that appears? Drama happens in most homes, but I try to focus on those I love. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
